The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The latest action-packed instalment that players dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for embracing action and mayhem with similar glee, all while weaving gripping, ideologically themed tales. No wonder then that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two creators whose work have embodied all of those qualities.
Show Details
Based on Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' format by having a fresh backdrop and ensemble in each season.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.
“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX team continues to lift me up with their steady trust and assistance.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone program. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can evolve from season to season, while always exploring the core of humanity through this multifaceted and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and introduce our common unconventional, visionary sensibility to the television.”
A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
